Configuration of Static WAN IP on RVL200 VPN Routers

Static IP is used by internet providers who assign users a permanent IP address. Using a static IP is less secure because the IP address is always the same, however it is more dependable for some services such as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) or if you the computer for a server. 

The objective of this document is to explain the procedure to configure a Static IP on RVL200 VPN Routers.

Applicable Devices

•  RVL200

Static IP Configuration

Step 1. Use the Router Configuration Utility to choose on Setup > Network.The Network page opens. Scroll down to the WAN division of the page.

Step 2. Choose Static IP option from the WAN drop-down menu. The Static IP Settings page opens.

Step 3. Enter the desired IP Address in the Specify WAN IP Address field.

Step 4. Enter the respective subnet mask in the Subnet Mask field.

Step 5. Enter the Default gateway in the Default Gateway field.

Step 6. Enter the Primary Domain Name service in the DNS Server 1 field.

Step 7. Enter the Secondary Domain Name service in the DNS Server 2 field.

Step 8. Select the type of Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU)  from the MTU field by clicking the respective radio button.

Step 9. If the administrator choose to set the MTU manually then enter the desired size in the Size field.

Step 10. Click Save to apply the changes.
