Objective

Port triggering is used for special applications that can request a port to be opened on demand. It allows the computers behind a NAT-enabled router access a special server or use a special application on the Internet.

The objective of this document is to guide in setting up port triggering through the router configuration utility.

Applicable Devices

• RVL200

Configuration of Port Triggering on WRVS4400N Router

Step 1.  Using the Web Configuration Utility, choose Setup > Forwarding. The Forwarding page opens:

Step 2. Enter the application name in the Application Name field.

Step 3. Enter the range of the ports that are needed to be triggered in the Triggered Range field.

Step 4. Enter the range of the ports that are needed to be forwarded in the Forwarded Range field.

Step 5. Click Save to apply changes.
