    Objectives

Capture Packets allows you to capture all packets that pass through the selected interface (LAN, dedicated WAN, or optional WAN).

This document explains how to capture and trace packets on Cisco RV120W and RV220W.

Applicable Devices

• RV120W
• RV220W

Capturing and Tracing Packet

Step 1. Using the Graphical User Interface of the device, choose Administration > Diagnostics > Capture Packets. The Capture Packets page opens.

Step 2. To trace packets, click Packet Trace.

Step 3. In the Select Network drop-down menu, select the interface and click Start.

Step 4. Click Stop, to stop the capture and then click Download to save a copy of the packet capture.

Step 5. Packets can be traced by on what location the copy is downloaded.

 

Note: Packet trace is limited to 1MB of data per capture session.
