Objectives

Syslog is a method to collect messages from devices to a server running a syslog daemon. Logging to a central syslog server helps in aggregation of logs and alerts. The PVC300 PTZ Internet Camera can be configured to send the system log file to a remote server as a log backup. Before using this feature, it is suggested to install a log recording tool to receive system log messages from the PVC300 PTZ Internet Camera.

The objective of this article is to explain how to configure Syslog on the PVC300 PTZ Internet Camera.

Applicable Devices

• PVC300 

Procedure to Configure Sys Log

Step 1. In the web configuration utility, choose Status >System log. The log window opens.

Step 2. In the IP Address text box, enter the IP address of the remote server.

Note: To set up remote logging, check Enable remote log.

Step 3. In the Port text box, enter the port number of the remote server.

Step 4. When completed, click Save for settings to take effect.
