Objectives

If the administrator username and/or password has been lost or forgotten or the device is being reconfigured, a hard reset can be useful. All settings and information on the device will be reset to defaults.

The article will explain how to perform a manual reset on the ESW-500 Series Switches .

Applicable Devices

• ESW520 and ESW540 Switches

Step-by-Step Procedure

Performing a hard/Manual reset

WARNING: .

Step 1. Switch can be manually reset by inserting a pin or paper clip into the RESET opening.

Step 2. Press the manual reset button for 0 to 20 seconds.

Step 3. Pressing it for 0 to 10 seconds will reboot the switch.

Step 4. Pressing the manual reset longer than 10 seconds will result in switch being reset to its factory defaults .
