Objectives

The objective of this document is to monitor WAN network performance for a desired site.

Applicable Devices

• PLG1000

Monitor WAN Network Performance for PLG1000

Step 1. Log on to Onplus Portal and select desired customer site.

Step 2. On Cisco Onplus Portal choose Dashboard which displays network topology.

Step 3. Click PLG1000 from the network topology view and then choose Device Information.

Step 4. From the device information window choose Monitors > Wan Network Performance to edit Jitter, Latency and Loss parameters.

Note:  Warning values are used to generate an event if the Wan network performance falls below the thresholds.Critical values are used to generate an event if there is no response from portal responder service.

• Jitter — measure of the variability over time of the packet latency across a network.

• Latency — It's a delay from the time of the start of packet transmission at the sender to the time of the end of packet reception at the receiver.

• Loss — It is failure of one or more transmitted packets arrive their destinations.

Step 6. Click Test Monitor to perform immediate test for WAN performance monitor.

Step 7. Check Generate an Event check box if you want to generate an event based on your test result.

Step 8. Click Run to run the test.

Step 9. Test output will be displayed immediately after you run the test.
