Objective

If the camera loses power for any reason, it cannot keep its clock running, and will not have the correct time when it is started again. To maintain correct time for schedules and logs, either the user must enter the correct time after the restart (manually), or the user must enable the Network Time Protocol (NTP) server option, which will automatically adjust the date and time on the device. Automatic time configuration helps the user to synchronize the camera clock to a network time server over the Internet. If the user uses schedules or logs, automatic time configuration is the best way to ensure that the schedules and logs are kept accurate.

This article explains how to configure some of the basic device settings such as the date and time for the VC240 Bullet Network Camera.

Applicable Device

• VC240 Bullet Network Camera

Software Version

• 1.0.1.2
