Objective

The Syslog feature monitors network traffic between the network and the Internet. Syslog is a standardized protocol that keeps record of network activities. RVL200 VPN routers support the Syslog protocol and record all network activities such as information about data transmissions, all network connection source and destination IP addresses, and the IP service and the number of bytes transferred which can be sent to an external Syslog server.

The objective of this document is to explain the configuration of Syslog to record network activities on Cisco RVL200 VPN Routers.
