Objective

System Settings allows user to configure the basic settings on the IP phones through UC device. User can also configure the hardware on different platform and user can customize system messages and how messages are display on the IP phones. User can provide web accessibility feature on IP phones through some modifications. This article guides in configuration of the Voice System Settings on UC500 series devices.

Software Upgrade

Step 1. In the Cisco Configuration Assistance (CCA), choose Configure > Telephony > System > System Settings. The System Settings page opens:

Step 2. Choose the name of the host from the Hostname drop-down list.

Note: Configure Hardware configuration if you have multiple platforms. CCA restrict the hardware configuration, so these values are fixed.

Step 3. Choose the system message to be displayed on IP phones.

• Custom — If you want to display your own message on IP phone. Enter system message up to 31 characters to display on phone screen.

• System Default — If you want to display system default message on IP phone. By fault Cisco Unified CME is displayed on IP phone.

• Minimum — If you want to save the display space.

Step 4. System Type settings are available only for the initial configuration. These can be configured through the Telephony Setup Wizard or the Voice Initialization window. You must reset the UC500 to factory defaults to change these settings. After you apply these settings, these fields become read-only.


Step 5. Click Enable Web Access for Phones to add web access feature to IP Phone.

Step 6. Click OK to apply system settings.
