Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) 5500 with software version 7.1 drops packets when the IP inspect feature is configured

Core issue

The problem occurs due to the presence of Cisco bug ID CSCsd04327.

Resolution

The workaround is to either reload the ASA or download and upgrade the ASA software version to any one of these versions:

  • 7.1(1.8)
  • 7.2(0.33)
  • 7.0(4.11)
