Core issue

The user has enabled a syslog message and tries to set the filter-id attribute from aregcmd. When the user tries to add the aregcmd command, if the command length exceeds 1024 bytes, then there is a segmentation fault in aregcmd.

This issue occurs due to the presence of Cisco bug ID CSCsf06876.

Resolution

As a workaround, disable the syslog message and then try to add the attribute.

In order to disable the syslog message, the user must modify the car.conf file, which is locate under the /cisco-ar/conf directory.

Note: Stop the CAR process before you modify the car.conf file.

This example output shows how to modify syslog entries in the car.conf file:

          #syslog conf

          LOCAL_LOGGING ON

          !--- Turns local logging on.

          SYSLOG_LOGGING  OFF

         !--- Turns syslog logging off.

         SERVER_IP_ADDRESS 127.0.0.1

          FACILITY_LOCAL_NUMBER 7

After you complete this modification, start the CAR process and try to set the attribute.

Loading.
