Core Issue
The use of unauthorized stick-on belt clips can damage the Cisco Unified Wireless IP Phone 7920 (CP-7920). An unauthorized stick-on clip, labeled a Hook, causes the battery case to split open, which causes the internal spring to short out the internal battery leads. The spring develops enough heat in order to melt the plastic cover. To wear the CP-7920 on a belt when the battery fails in this way can cause burns.
In addition, any unauthorized procedures established in order to clean the device can result in a damaged Cisco Unified Wireless IP Phone. To clean the device with anything except a dry, clean cloth can damage it.
The misuse of the Cisco Unified Wireless IP Phone 7920 can result in damage and a voided warranty.
