Core Issue

After Cisco Unity 4.x is installed on the Media Convergence Server (MCS) 7825-H2 with the EDCS-501261DVD REV17 Part # 80-8469-01 Platform Configuration Disc, the newly installed Cisco Unity server fails to join the domain, and the No mapping between account names and security IDs was done error message appears.

The Cisco Unity server can ping both the Domain Controller and Domain Name System (DNS) server, and name resolution works fine. A reboot of the Cisco Unity does not help, and if any other server is added to the domain, there are no issues. That server successfully joins the domain.

Resolution

This issue is tracked in Cisco bug ID CSCsf00207.

In order to workaround this issue, complete these steps:

1. Issue this command on the server that has the problem:
   
   secedit /configure /cfg "%windir%\security\templates\setup security.inf" /db secsetup.sdb /verbose
   
   
      
2. Copy this string to one line in a command prompt, and execute it.   
3. Then, reboot the server.
