The NTVDM encountered a hard error message is received when the setup.exe is run on a CD/DVD to install Cisco Unity Connection software version 1.1.1

Core Issue

The issue is reported when the Cisco Unity Connection software version 1.1(1) setup.exe is run with DVDs manufactured with the product ID 80-8277-01 (UC - 24 ports or fewer).

The issue is caused by a defective process during the manufacture of these CDs.


Resolution

This problem is tracked in Cisco bug ID CSCsd30990.

To resolve this issue, download the Cisco Unity Connection software from the CCO Software Center. To download the images, refer to Software Download: Unity Connection and navigate to Cisco Unity Connection 1.1 DVD Images. Once the ISO image(s) are downloaded, burn the image(s) to a new DVD.

Note: Be sure to reboot the server after the initial NTVDM error, before an attempt is made to run setup.exe again. Otherwise, the same error is received.
