Requirement :

The Customer requirement is, once the call hits the Voice gateway, the service provider should provide a ring back tone to the caller ( before the IVR starts to play). As this is a CVP comprehensive ,once the call hits the gateway, within a fraction of milli second it will reach the CVP and starts to play the IVR.

The service provider says " The IVR is too fast and they are not getting enough time to give the ring back to the caller ". I wonder how to make this delay from Gateway to CVP. Customer recently migrated from Avaya ( the above scenario is possible there as it is ANALOG), they are expecting the same from Cisco as well.

Solution :

This is true. The CVP VXML gateway will answer immediately without sending the 180 ringing indicator. This is because it is an auto answer SIP endpoint. TCL application on the VXML gateway always auto answers without providing a 180 provisional ringing message.

The workaround could be by creating a 1-2 second ringing wav prompt, then create a run script node in your CCE script, and put this as the first node in the script.
