AP Nearby Info offers a tree view of each AP, from two points of view:

  • Nearby Data: This is the APs heard by the selected AP on each of its radios. This is taken from the sh run-config
  • AP Heard by: These are the APs that hear the currently selected AP. It would be the reverse direction from Nearby data, and calculated by the application, from the sh run-config details. It is important as it is used by RRM calculations

The two sets of data are important to understand the RF coverage of a site. It is critical to validate proper roaming between APs for voice applications, and also can be used to understand potential co-channel or side-channel interference
