Hi Guys,

I have outgoing Voip dialpeer where i cannot remove prefix. But we can make translation rule to omit prefix like 9 and then add outbound DID for outgoing calls. Any idea/suggestion?

WLC timezone consideration for configuring wIPS?

Hello Experts,

Was going through the WLC 8.7 config guide and quite confused with contradicting statements on timezone.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/8-7/config-guide/b_cg87/initial_setup.html

From my understanding as long all the WLC, Prime and MSE are sync with the same NTP server and their timings are in sync, the timezones should not matter.

In WLC configuration, the only option that I see is for the GMT timezone. However for wIPS their's an explicit mention of recommendation of UTC timezone(If you are configuring wIPS, you must set the controller time zone to UTC.). Does it really matter?

Managing the Controller System Date and Time

You can configure the controller system date and time at the time of configuring the controller using the configuration wizard. If you did not configure the system date and time through the configuration wizard or if you want to change your configuration, you can follow the instructions in this section to configure the controller to obtain the date and time from a Network Time Protocol (NTP) server or to configure the date and time manually. Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) is used as the standard for setting the time zone on the controller.

You can also configure an authentication mechanism between various NTP servers.

CDR File missing Data thats in SYSLOG and console

Hi All

I have 3925E 15.6(3)M4, acting as a SBC and I wanted to add call tracking from the data

I have the following accounting setup

gw-accounting aaa
acct-template callhistory-detail
!
gw-accounting syslog stats
gw-accounting file
primary ftp ipDDRESS/teletech/gs/gs username teletech password 7 xxxxxxxxxxxx
maximum fileclose-timer 60
maximum cdrflush-timer 55

logging facility syslog
logging host IPDDRESS vrf Local-Voice

For a call, this currently generates 3 versions of the call history, console, syslog and File

I understand that many fields in the file log do not have any data, however, I would expect that fields with data in them for the console or syslog records would appear in the File generated record.

Fields I see missing are

Field 5 peer-address

Field 11 h323-disconnect-cause

Field 12 disconnect-text

In the data below, the data for the three fields in question are visible in the console, and SYSLOG versions of the data, but not the file version.

Suggestions ?

AnyConnect connect to internet via ASA

I know that there are quite a few discussions about this topic and I have read most of them. Unfortunately none of them seems to work so I will ask the question again.

I have an ASA at home which serves both as a router for my broadband connection and a VPN device.

The setup is as like this:

Two interfaces, inside and outside, outside gets the IP via PPPoE from the ISP. Inside via DHCP. A certain range of that is allocated for VPN access, let's call it 192.168.1.10 - 192.168.1.20

Needless to say that VPN is setup as well.

Now if I connect the internet from my laptop via mobile phone, I can access my home LAN. I can access all servers, printers, TV, etc. There are no issues here.

But if I try to open a website on my laptop while it is connected to VPN, it won't work.

(Workaraound at the moment is to RDP to a computer running on the LAN and access the internet from there)

My idea behind this is that when I'm traveling and use public WiFi, I would like to connect not only to my LAN, but also have all internet traffic routed over my home connection.

I was in the believe that my laptop, which became a device on my LAN after VPN connection, would have the same privileges as the other devices on the LAN. As I said above, it can communicate with all devices on the LAN, but it can not establish a connection to the internet.

After reading a few threads on here, there were two terms that I came across:

-split tunnel

-hair pinning

Regarding the "split tunnel", that is not what I am looking for. All traffic from the Laptop should go over VPN. "Hair pinning", as in enabling the checkbox "Enable traffic between two or more interfaces which are configured with the same security levels" simply doesn't work.

Is there no way to achieve this? I would prefer ASDM over CLI and it would be nice if there was a way which doesn't involve creating ACLs or similar. Thanks in advance for your help.

Translation Patter Problem on CUCM

Hi!

I have a CUCM model 11.0.1.22900-14. The CUCM has a Translation Patter with this configuration 700.XXXX on Translation Pattern (pictores below), but now I configured another Translation Pattern with this configuration \+52XXXXXXXXXX.XXXX and it doesn't work, I don't know why it's that because when I configured the Translation Pattern like this XXXXXXXXXX.XXXX whitout the '\+' it works perfectly.

Hope you can help me!

Thank you.

Site to Site VPN with RV340W - Windows File Sharing

I have two SMB routers at 2 sites. Both are model RV340W.

I have successfully configured a VPN, status shows connected and the VPN lights are solid green.

The host network is 192.168.0.1/24 and the remote is 192.168.1.1/24

From the host network I can ping the remote router (192.168.1.1) and vice versa, but I cannot ping any of the client computers behind the opposite side of the VPN.

I need to be able to ping the remote computers, and will also want to use Windows file sharing between them (access \\hostpc\share )

I've followed the instructions here https://supportforums.cisco.com/t5/small-business-support-documents/configure-a-site-to-site-virtual-private-network-vpn-connection/ta-p/3170641 , with one exception. There is a link in the document which is supposed to guide you on adding an IPSEC entry, but the link is broken / links to a different document. The broken link points to https://supportforums.cisco.com/t5/small-business-support-documents/configure-a-bluetooth-device-on-a-cisco-ip-phone-8800-series/ta-p/3168558 and can be found in Step 3 of the remote setup in help document 3170641 (linked above)

I've managed to get a connection without those instructions (using 'Default' IPSEC profile), but maybe I've missed something ? Regardless, I can only ping as far as the other router, not the clients behind, and am unable to connect to UNC shares ( \\hostpc\sharename )

Do I need to create ACL entries ? Is there any guidance / instructions on this ?

Hope you can help

Thank you

Configure Source Interface for AAA on FTD/FMC?

Just wonder if this is another firmware limitation...

I need to specify the management interface of FTD as the source interface to reach AAA server. I think by default FTD is using the routing table to decide which interface to try to reach the AAA server. This is configurable on ASA but does not seem FTD supports it as of 6.2.3.2...

Does anyone know if FlexConfig can be used to accomplish this for FTD OR It is related to FXOS?

Traceroute with multiple next hops

Hi All,

In brief- we have iWAN in our environment and all branch routers have 2 ISP connections ( both are public internet, layer 3). Now we are in a process of replacing one of these DIA (direct internet access) connections with a layer 2 circuit from the service provider. I believe it is called VPLS service from ISP perspective.

We have migrated only one location at the moment to this layer 2 service and what we are seeing now is when using traceroute, we have multiple next hops:

I did some researching and what i found is that , this means that from router side, there are multiple routes that these packets can take to reach the destination.

Is this behavior normal? Is this fine from a routing perspective? Why do we see 10.254.250.1 twice in the first hop and so on....?

My boss told me that this is not normal.

I would appreciate any inputs!!!

Thank you.

Note: the rest of the branches which are still running on layer 3 service (DIA) are showing one ip address as next hop.

Is there a way to have IOS-XR perform accounting when using NETCONF

On my ACS server I'm not seeing the commands that are executed when using NETCONF over SSH to modify the configuration. I do see the commands when using the normal shell over ssh. I did a packet capture of the TACACS+ traffic back to the ACS server and it does indeed look like the IOS-XR device is not exporting them. Is there some configuration that I can do on the router to enable accounting for NETCONF commands or is this not available? FYI, this is on IOS-XR 5.3.3 on a CRS-8. Thanks in advance.

Simple question here to anyone using PCP.

We looked at PCP a while back and determined that it would be great for a green field deployment but that it was too much work to get it up and running into an existing voice cluster. Has this changed? We were hoping that maybe it would now come with a way to scan the existing cluster and build all of the templates that currently exist rather than attempting to recreate all of them by hand.

Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

HI, Is it possile to limit number of calls/chat coming to Agent , that Chat availability is automatically disabled when UCCX phone call volume reaches a certain level (f.e. 5 calls in queue ) ?

Thank you

I found option Channel Parameters -"Offer chat contact when on voice call" and I think if set it to No and max calls to 5 , then I guess no new chat will come to that agent. Is this correct ?

Can you have same ip-address running in 2 DCs with LISP

Hi folks,

I have a question on LISP - can you have same ip address for a vm in 2 x DCs at the same time and control the routing? For example, ip: 10.10.10.100/32 present in both East and West DC at the same time, can LISP help in controlling in bound traffic flow to it?

I understand we can leverage LISP for vm mobility (ESM mode) and true multi homing, but want to address this question also.

thnx
