Is there a Smart CallConnector Client that does not require a server?

We have used the Smart CallConnector Client and Operator with the SCC Server.  I noticed that the Operator comes in both a SERVER and STANDALONE configuration.

Does the Client also work without the server?

I know that we would not get Presence and IM, but not having the server piece would make setup (and Demo) much easier.

Thanks!

Yep, as you stated is correct.  The Advanced Client will work (limited) without the server (obviously no presense or IM).

But a non production trick for demos.... the SCC Operator has a built in server for 2 Attendents, so if your only using one, then you can connect a client (one) to it :-)    You have to play with that, so if you dont have time, dont, cause you cant sell it that way.

Thanks for the advice.  That will give me what we need.  (In my limited experience) most of our clients do not use presence or IM.  If they do want IM, typically they are already using Live Messenger.

By removing the server, we will also reduce the cost of the product as well which should help us to get more sales also.

Is there anything special that I need to do for the Advanced Client to configure it without the server?  I do not see a special download for a "Standalone" edition.

nothing special.  Only the one version.  If you dont have a server it runs standalone.

Would we leave the Server IP filed blank?

I think so, yes.  What does the admin guide say?

It will not let me leave it blank or enter the ips for the UC or standalone operator.  Could not find it in the quide so far...

Shoot!    I just found thi: https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-13232

It says the client requires the server....

I must have been thinking of the trick I used when I pointed it to the Smart Call Connector Opertor.

Sorry about that sir.

Can I use the SCC Advanced Client withouth the server in stand-alone mode?

No. SCC Advanced Client required a running SCC Server on the network to operate. For (basic) stand-alone mode without server, use the Smart CallConnector Toolbar.
