Bulk add unified messaging to users accounts

We are moving from Unity 5.0 to Connection 8.6. The Unity users are not integrated with LDAP nor unified messaging.

I use COBRAS to re map the alias and import into connection 8.6 this is good. all the users are now in connection 8.6 I can run bulk edit to Integrate with LDAP directory BUT the unified messaging account is grayed out.

Is there a way to accomplish this?

Hi Kevin,

You will be able to use BulkEdit to help integrate with LDAP however it won't allow you to add the unified messaging services to end users. You'll need to use Bulk Administration to complete this task.

The easiest way to perform this would be as follows:

1. Configure unified messaging on one or two users.

2. Use Bulk Admin to export out the users with the unified messaging accounts.

3. Use Bulk Admin to export out all of the users with mailboxes (or a list of users) so we get a full list of the aliases who wants the unified messaging feature.

4. Take the export list of all users and collect the list of aliases and copy that list of names over to the file from step 2.

5. Copy down all of the fields from the example users to all of the new user aliases. This is easier to do in Excel. Leave the field 'OptionalServiceAccountID' blank.

6. Remove the example users from the file built in step 5.

7. Use Bulk Admin to create the unified messaging accounts.

8. Test and verify that the users now have the single inbox feature.

Good luck.
