Hi
I have a CUCM9 publisher , cucm subs, Unity Publisher and Unity Subsc.
CUCM Publisher and CUC Publisher are configured the NTP with a AD2003 server, but are unsynchronised when test them in CLI, now CUC Subsriber and CUCM Subscr are unable to be installed by a ntp issue.
I tried to add another ntp from a router with a internet connection but fail again, how can i synchronise the NTP?
thanks

Ivan,
UC products don't support Windows NTP servers bottomline. We support only IOS and Linux based NTP.
Also you should not use a internet NTP that is outside of your administrative control, therefore you can't configure or troubleshoot.
You should take one of your core IOS devices, sync it with an external NTP source, and add the ntp master 1.

Hi
look you can use your Cisco route gateway as NTP server , by useing the below commands:-
ntp master 1
ntp server loopback 0
ntp source loopback0
clock timezone (any name) (timezone)
#show ntp status (to make sure from your NTP)>
on your CUCM just type the IP address for your loopback address.
Thank you

MSFT server is not valid NTP source as it does not provide proper stratum, you a network device or external NTP source.

Windows uses Simple NTP (sNTP) which is not a reliable NTP source
I have successfully used the Meinberg release of the NTP software on 2008 R2 as it implements the full NTP, it will also work on 2003 as well.
http://www.meinbergglobal.com/english/news/software-new-ntp-version-for-windows-4-2-6p5-.htm
It solved all my problems

Dear Graham,
Thank you so much for the idea. It works perfectly.
2All: I had the same issue as the author of the topic. To solve the issue I've done:
1. downloaded Meinberg NTP software from https://www.meinbergglobal.com/english/sw/ntp.htm#ntp_stable (direct link: ntp-4.2.8p5-win32-setup.exe)
2. installed it with all default settings (here is instruction with screenshots http://www.satsignal.eu/ntp/setup.html)
3. said "cool" :)
Yours sincerely,
Igor.

Hi aokanlawon
The configuration ran under a router with ntp master and synchronised to a external ntp.
why dont you recommend this kind of configuration??
thanks.

The Meinberg software shuts down the Windows w32time and replaces it with a rfc compliant time source. It has all the options you would expect including the ability to select multiple time sources via their dns name.
