Network Admin has changed DNS server IP address and now I have to do those changes in CUCM. I am running CUCM 9.1, I would like to know is it going to impact my licensing file or do I need to request new licenses?

This would change the license mac so a license rehost would be required. You can contact the licensing team through TAC and they would be able to help you out.

Hi,

you can refer the site for LicenseMAC details.

Hello,

I don't think that this changes will impact on the licenses. Because, from v9 the ELM is resonsible of license distribution.

even though please, open a case and ask the query.

Thanks

Selvarathnam, thanks for the suggestion [+5]. Yes, in fact with ELM beng introduced the 9.1 version will behave differently from the 8.x version. When you try to change the dns server you should get a warning like the one below

admin:set network dns primary X.X.X.X

WARNING: To avoid license synchronization failures, delete the
product instance from the Enterprise License Manager
managing this server's licenses before changing network
settings. You will have to re-add the product instance
after the network settings have been changed.

So just follow the steps as listed in the warning and it should be good.

Hello Manish,

I have the same activity regarding changing DNS in CUCM 9.1 by tomorrow. Can you share any issues if you face or if you can advise any thing that we need to be carefull about it will be highly appreciated.

After changing DNS entry did u face any database replication problem between pub & sub ?

Did u face any issue in phone registration issue after changing DNS ?

Did u face any issue in accessing ELM after chaning DNS ?

Regards,
