I had reside SFP GBIC on Cat6500 with Sup720.
But i had faced error message.
Here is the error message.
%PM_SCP-SP-3-TRANSCEIVER_BAD_EEPROM: Integrity check on transceiver in LAN port 5/1 failed: bad key

Cisco SFP GBICs have a unique encrypted code (Quality ID) which enables Cisco IOS/CAT OS to identify Cisco pluggable parts. Normal GBICs do not have this and hence they might work.

Looks like you have a non-Cisco SFP GBIC which is not supported.

Exactly right.
I had resided non-Cisco SFP GBIC whcich is Founday...
As you know, Normal type GBIC which is non-Cisco GBIC works correctly on Cisco produts, right?
Why non-Cisco GBIC didn't work?
