ASDM Refuses to launch (brand new, not the 'uptime' issue)

Hi,

We just bought an ASA 5505 but I can't get the ASDM software to run ("Exception in thread 'SGZ Loader: launchSgzApplet'").

The unit is brand new, so I don't think this is the "uptime" issue mentioned in other posts. I've tried getting this going on two different Mac systems running OS X 10.9 and 10.10. Java says it's up to date on both but both have the exact same issue.

I've already spent *hours* updating Java, tweaking java settings, figuring out how to make special exceptions for running the JNLP file, changing security settings and now this. (Is this really a good way to make management software? Good 'ol reliable web-based management wouldn't do?)

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Console transcript follows.

Thanks,

Colin
