ASR9000 シリーズルータでは、iVRF license を適用することにより、vrf を 8 個まで使用することが可能です。9 個目以降は AIP license が必要となります。AIP license を適用している場合には、9 個目の vrf を設定した際に、AIP license が Active となります。
しかし、IOS XR 4.3.1 以降においては、nv satellite の auto-ip をサポートするために 1 vrf 分が使用されます。この 1 vrf をカウントするため、iVRF license で 9 vrf まで、10 vrf から AIP license が Active となります。
