ACS 4.2 & FWSM login - strange issue

Hi,

Has anyone come across an issue with FWSMs not being able to authenticate to ACS when all the other devices on the network can?

Yesterday we had this issue when 6 of our FWSMs couldn't authenticate to the ACS but the 6500 switches they were housed in continued without any glitches as did all the other switches, routers & ASA/Pix on the network. The FWSMs and the switches have their OOB management IP addresses on the same subnet so it wasn't a routing issue and the 2 ACS are NAT'ed to appear on the same network  as well.

The only change on the ACS was some devices were added at the beginning of the day but we use a single Admin group who have access to all devices in ACS so there isn't anything complex with the configuration or access rights. The existing FWSM ACS accounts weren't altered during this change.

These are ACS appliances and not Windows based installs (so we can't blame M$), the eventual solution was to reboot the ACS and then they all authenticated again without issue.

Just seemed strange that it was only the FWSMs affected and wondered if anyone else had experienced it.

Regards

Mel
