ACS 5.1 upgrade problems to 5.3

I have an ACS 5.1 server running on VMWare that I'm trying to upgrade to v5.3. When I run the application upgrade command it ran for 5 hrs then it ran out of virtual disk space. It then gets hung in a rebooting loop that I have do delete and restore from snap shot. The disk has plenty of room so I'm not sure what is going on. Any help would be appreciated.

ACS 5.1 upgrade problems to 5.3

Is this a system where a lot of M&T data has accumulated? How long has the system been installed? If so have you ever configured the M&T data to be purged?
