Joshua Engels

Any time I log into the ACS with my Active Directory User ID to manage or view reports we immediatley get the following alarm.  I have been digging but must be overlooking what is causing this.  Any suggestions?

This is a known issue and has been fixed in ACS 5.4 patch 3 and later.

CSCue33753    Value too long error seen on dashboard

Symptom:

The following error is seen when viewing the ACS 5 dashboard:

Value too long (hosrv66, AdminAdvancedAccess)

Please see Collector log for details

Conditions:

This problem affects ACS 5.4 when using Windows AD as the external database.

Workaround:

The error is shown when the number of characters in the list of Windows AD groups exceeds 1024 bytes, and is cosmetic in nature, as only the display of the report is affected. The actual AD group matching done within policies does take into account the full list.
