We are recieving the following event logs every 1.5 hours or so:

Alert from ACS1HQ on Oct 09 2008 at 07:35

Service CSTacacs not running: will attempt to restart

Alert from ACS1HQ on Oct 09 2008 at 07:35

Service CSTacacs re-started OK

It appears the Tacacs just randonly stops, then restarts almost instantly. Any reason for this? Would this be expected behavior?? We are running at version 4.2.0.124

This message does not always indicate problem. If you dont see any issues with authentication then we can ignore it.

Also I would suggest you to apply patch 5

If you see messages that says CSTacacs is being re-started.. thats normal. Lots of scheduled activity result in re-starts - replication, backup, admin ui etc...

If csmon keeps finding CSTacacs isnt running and you arent seeing exceptions and crashes - it means something is causing the process to quietly exit (aka die)

If you set logging detail to max and look in the cstacacs service log you might find a clue. Look for service start messages then immediately before that you probably see shutdown messages - if it was a controlled shutdown..
