caller id problem with NAS Cisco 3640 and ACS 2.4

I have an ACS 2.4 which is configured to screen the caller id incoming to the NAS Cisco3640.

The problem is that some ( maybe 5 of 100) of the incoming calls will be denied . When they tried it a second time, the incoming call will passed without problems.

When i debug this, i will see in Q.931 that the calling and called party number is transmitted (incoming)

Calling Party Number i = 0x2183, '47114711', Plan:ISDN, Type:National

Called Party Number i = 0xC1, '11471147', Plan:ISDN, Type:Subscriber(local)

but in the outgoing T+ message to the ACS will be only a 0X00 for the rem_addr

(for these i receive "authen response status fail")

T+: rem_addr: 0x00 0x00

when they tried it a 2. or 3. time it will be o.k

T+: rem_addr: 47114711/11471147 0X00 and i receive

TPLUS: Received authen response status PASS (2).

Can somebody give me a workaround or solution for these problem.

Thanks

Andreas

The problem sound somewhat similar to the one described in CSCdx06022, though the severity seems to be much more there. Have you change your IOS version lately. If indeed you have, the problem might lie with the IOS itself. Another thing worth looking at is if the misfired authentication attempts are for ISDN calls only. If so, then the problem could probably be closer to bug CSCdx71316. Upgrading your IOS might then.
