I have a brand new ACS version 5.2. Everything is working fine. I go to cisco website and download the following packages:
5-2-0-26-8.tar.gpg
ACS_5.3.0.40.tar.gz
- I then uploaded these files to my Linux CentOS server
- I then go to the ACS UI and created two software respositories link: acs-52-patch and Upgrade_to_5.3.0
From there, I ssh into the ACS and performed the following:
acs patch install 5-2-0-26-8.tar.gpg repos acs-52-patch
That works without any issues. My ACS is now upgrade to 5.2.0-26-8
An hour later, when I tried to perform this: acs patch install ACS_5.3.0.40.tar.gz repository Upgrade_to_5.3.0. it is not working. I get this message:
Failed to copy file 'ACS_5.3.0.40.tar.gz' from repository Upgrade_to_5.3.0
(Error -306)
% Error: patch install ACS_5.3.0.40.tar.gz from repository Upgrade_to_5.3.0 - transfer failed (code 1)
I've checked multiple times that the upgrade image ACS_5.3.0.40.tar.gz is good and that the md5sum matches the one posted on Cisco website:
96f4dfe1244385f968561350e6190def ACS_5.3.0.40.tar.gz
Any ideas anyone?

For the upgrade you should be using the following command
application upgrade ACS_5.3.tar.gz repository-name
Make sure to backup your system before starting the upgrade process

Thanks thats work. However, after the upgrade and reboot, when I performed "show application status acs", I get this:
lab-ACS53-dev/admin# show application status acs
Application initializing...
Status is not yet available.
Please check again in a minute.

lab-ACS53-dev/admin#
I even waited for 30 minutes and nothing. Finally, I gave up and performed "acs stop" and "acs start", now I am good.
Thanks.
