Can this scenario be done? ACS with 3rd party devices

Hi all,

I would like to know if this scenario can be accomplished using ACS 4.1? The flow process are as follows:

1. Cisco PSDN accepts wireless users for authentication & passes authentication details to ACS

2. ACS establishes a connection to an external DB2 database using LDAP

3. Once authenticated, IP will be dynamically assigned using the IP Pool

4. At the same time, a customized RADIUS attribute (service_code) and framed-IP attribute to be passed to a 3rd party device for accounting purposes

Oh and the service_code attribute value will be from the DB2 database. This sounds rather complicated and would appreciate if anyone can help. Thanks in advance

Cheers!

Hi,

The only thing which cannot be done in your scenario is the attribute from external DB.

An attribute from ACS can be passed but not from the ext. db.

Hi Vivek,

Thanks for the response. By going from your response, I guess the only option would be to synchronize the DB2 database with ACS local database to get this scenario working?

Cheers!
