When looking at TACACS+ session and command accounting from various IOS devices its hard make any sense of the values you see in the task_id attribute.
I always thought it was analagous to the RADIUS session-id attribute.. but when you look it isnt.
Sometimes you'll see a session start/stop with the same task-id - great. But the commands accounted in-between dont always have the same task-id. Sometimes they increment from the start task-id and sometimes from the start task-id+n.
The result is they seem to be totally unreliable This is a shame as its the most obvious method to associate commands and the session they ran in.
Can any IOS experts clarify this.. Obvisouly have trawled cisco.com and google but no luck.
