ISE Config Backup Failure - Data filesystem full above threshold

Both the config and operational backups were working until earlier last month. Now the config backup is failing with the following error. No configuration or repository settings were changed.

ISE Patch 8 - Clustered with persona Node 1 = PAN, SMN, PSN .... Node 2 = SAN, PMN, PSN

CLI history says the same:

The local repository (disk:/) is looking good. The "/" filesystem is taking 77% space.

Although it may not be relevant. Data Purging is set to 30 days in the GUI and Operations -> Reports -> Data Purging Audit indicates its running daily with success i.e. threshold_space = 80GB, used_space = 3GB.

Is there a way to clean "/" filesystem ? It is filling up by roughly 1% every 5 days ? Note: the same on Node 2 is only 24% full.

Any ideas on how to get the config backup issue resolved ?

Another related bug is

Another related bug is CSCuJ97832 which causes the hard disk to fill up and cause backups to fail. If you still have access to the ISE CLI you can run the command application configure ISE from the primary MNT node and choose the option to reset the M&T session DB which will purge the files in the directory which caused this bug.  If you have lost access to the CLI, you will need to call TAC to perform the process.

I have only been able to fix

I have only been able to fix this by contacting Cisco TAC, who can give you a root patch, which allows you to login to a "root" shell and delete the old log files, which is probably what is filling up that particular place on the disk.

A restore is done to the deployment previously with large data set.

Contact Cisco TAC to clean up the files.
