ISE in VMWare Player

Hello ISE experts,

I'm hoping I can get a few tips.  I'm installing ISE in VMPlayer in advance of receiving some licenses for a dev role out.  I was able to boot the ISO and log in.  I could also ping the VM.

I could not reach the VM via http/https://IP/admin

I ran setup in the VM and it showed to have some..odd configurations.  I, seemingly, enabled https and http and disabled all the fw services.  Still no connection.

The brief VM install guide shows to make sure we connect a virtual serial port to the VM.  I do that but putty errors out saying its in use when I try to connect.

Appreciate any tips on connecting to the admin web page or using the serial port.

What are the network settings you use for the VMWare player?

Hello,

I am giving you the installation guide for ISE on VMware and Esxi server. Please follow the steps, i have done my installation using this guide only.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/ise/1.0.4/install_guide/ise104_vmware.html

ISE is not supported under player, as I understand it. It is supported under VM SEVER and ESXi. See the attached link from nkumarsr above.

That is correct George. But it can be installed on a player if you have enough system requirements (although not supported).

I was able to install it on a player last weekend. I had no problem. I think Robert has something wrong with the network settings (maybe he is leaving it to the default NAT settings).

Regards,

Amjad
