We have PIX 515E and want to use an authentication method that would be transparent to the user when they browse the internet. Is it possible to configure MS proxy server (will use the domain account for allowing & dis-allowing web browsing) behind a PIX 515e (no authentication configuring on the unit). Have the user's default gateway pointing to the proxy and the proxy's (ext NIC interface) default gateway pointing to the PIX inside interface. Any suggestion whether this would work or not will be appreciated or if anyone has a similar scenario that works?
Thanks for your response. Basically we did not want to prompt the user to type in their username/password every time they wants to browse the internet or when they change to a different site. We do use MS RADIUS server for authentication & accounting. My question then is how do we by-pass the user authentication prompt (in either PIX or RADIUS) and allowing & dis-allowing a group of users for internet access. Is this possible? Any responses is greatly appreciated.
