# of tacacs keys for CatOS

Easy Q: IOS devices allow you to specify a key for each tacacs server instance, but CatOS devices can support two tacacs servers (1 pri and 1 sec) and only a single tacacs key. Is this correct?

Thanks - Rich

Re: # of tacacs keys for CatOS

In IOS you can use multiple tacacs-server host commands to specify additional hosts. The Cisco IOS software searches for hosts in the order in which you specify them.

In CatOS you can configure a maximum of three servers. The primary server, if configured, is contacted first. If no primary server is configured, the first server configured becomes the primary server.
