PIX Authentication timeouts

Hi,

I am using my PIX 535 (6.3) to authenticate users accessing the Internet. I have set the timeouts.

Unfortunately they are acting somehow funny. Sometimes when a user is authenticated and changes the web page he is currently on, althought the timeout preset is not over he has to re-authenticate again.

Can someone tell me what is happening exactly please?

Also, is there a type logoff mechanism?

There are a few things that you could look into:

1) The timeout is specified in hours, minutes, and seconds. Make sure that the configured timeout is actually what you think it is.

2) There are two timeout's, the absolute timeout and the idle timeout. Check out the values of both if they are configured.

3) Ensure that the configured timeout uauth value is less than the timeout xlate value.
