uauth problem

Running PIX 6.3(1) and have remote clients connecting to our internal servers. We want them to authenticate on the PIX firewall before proceeding. Problem is that uauth is client based. Therefore, if one client that has more than 1 user connecting to our site and using a single global address, the first user will be authenticated and the second won't be challenged.

Is there any other way to make the PIX authenticate based on session and not source IP address...like Checkpoint does?

Thanks in advance!

Jimmy

The PIX bases its authentication on source IP address only, so if two people are behind one PAT device, only the first will need to authenticate for them both to be allowed through.

This has been discussed internally and is being looked at, but at the moment there's no way around it. Sorry.
