about backup CSS status check fot box-to-box redundancy

I want to use ping to check the backup CSS's status, I can ping the master's heartbeat interface's IP address,but can't ping the other end's.

I was try to use ACL,but its not work.So, how can I do it.

you can't.

The reason is that in box-to-box redundancy, the backup is in a waiting mode.

If you are using another type of redundancy, this should work.

Finally, in boxo-to-box redundancy you should not need to monitor the backup since they share the same config.

If the master fails, the backup will take over and use the same ip addresses.

So, your monitoring device does not need to monitor the backup.
