Hello Alex,

With the output, I can only say something happend on the one of IXP caused system crash.

There are two Intel IXPs for data plane processing and the one that had an issue is IXP2 (NP2).

To have a proper analysis for crash issue and make appropriate action plan, I suggest you open up a TAC case with following information.

- "show tech" from ACE admin context

- core files generated under "dir core:" of the ACE if you see files there.

- syslog if it is configured

- "show tech" from Catalyst Supervisor

General speaking, software upgrade is worth doing since A2(1.5a) is a little out of date. Our current release is

based on A2(3.x). The latest one is A2(3.2a) that has loads of bug fixes and enhancements for stability comparing one you are using.

Thanks and Regards,

Kimihito

Hi Kimihito,

Thanks for looking into this I really appriciate it.

I wil diffenetely look for the upgrade of the firmware. Before that could you please have a look at my crash info file and let me know your opinion on this.

Let me know your email address so that i forward the data to you.

Thanks in advance.

Alex.

Hi Alex,

You can send me files using "private message" function of Cisco Support Community (CSC).

Or you can upload files on this thread.

Generally, core analysis is done by our dev team and I'm not from dev. I can provide what I think with files but I still recommend you to

open up a service request (TAC case) to have proper analysis to make your action plan.

Thanks and regards,

Kimihito.

Kimihito,

Yes I agree we need to log a cisco tac case for this.

I have seen couple of SRAM parity error on the ACE but this is the first time I am seeing NP Watchdog REset.

Didnt found any bug as well relating to this  By any chance does this bug:CSCsx56801 matches referes to watchdog reset?

Thanks for your support.

Regards

Alex.

Hi Alex,

I replied for the "private message".

Just wanted to let you know.

Could you please check it if you have not noticed that ?

Regards,

Kimihito.

Thanks for the help.

Regards

Alex.

i am facing the same kind of error can you please suggest the solution if you have already applied

Hi,

Send me the show tech as well as any crash/core files and i will see if i can find something. But if it is crash which is new and doesn't match any previous crash,  you will need to open a TAC case since it would need to go to development team. Also, it is good to open a new thread for discussion.

Kanwal
