ACE rserver deployment questions

It is relatively simple question but I can't find the answer in documentation or forum. Is it possible to have 2 rservers, both in different IP segments (different IP networks) and still use it in one serverfarm? and loadbalance its traffic with common VIP? And the next question: is it possible to have those reservers in network segments not directly connected to ACE in configuration like that FWSM->ACE->NETWORK_CLOUD->RSERVER of course assuming that there is full IP connectivity between ACE and servers.

it's a yes to all your questions.

Just be aware that ACE is a stateful device - like a firewall- so it requires to see both side of the traffic. So, with remote rservers, you need to pay attnetion to the response from the server to the client as it must go through the ACE module.

Gilles.

Gilles,

Is it possible for me to loadbalance 2 FWSM's with two ACE modules within a 6500 chassis?

yes, this is possible.

Thanks a lot Gilles for all your replies.

Adam
