ACE upgrade from A3 2.0 to A4 2.7

Hi,

Is it possible to upgrade ACE 4710 from A3 to A4? What does this actualy means by A3, A4 & A5.

I want to upgrade ACE from A3 to A4 becase I want to enable switch-mode on ACE.  Current S/W version is A3 2.0 which is not supporting this command.  While reffering the command refernce guide saw that this command is supported in A2 & A4 version from 2.0 itself but for A3 in 2.7 (which is the latest) also this is not supporting this feature.

Thanks in advance.

ACE upgrade from A3 2.0 to A4 2.7

Hi Tharun.

It's possible, A3, A4, A5 are different SW trains, they may have different feature set and slightly different behaviour in some situations. So, there is no limitation for upgrading ACE4710 to any of this train (just A3 is pretty old), however you should be careful, check release notes, maybe try in lab as it's not easy to say if such upgrade can cause some problem interruption in your particular case. (In general - shouldn't)

I'd suggest to check a release notes but shouldn't be anything very special. I'm not sure if Standby warm state is present in A3.2.0 but if you have a timewindow when you can have a short service interruption - it shouldn't be a problem.

Hi Borys,

Thanks for the quick response.

Is there any other special procedures to follow while upgrading from A3 2.0 to A4 2.0?
