This past weekend, we installed new ACE20 modules in switch 1 and switch 2 of a VSS pair. On switch 1, the power was enabled and there were no problems. In switch 2, however, when power enable command was issued, it was not allowed and the following syslog entries showed up:
Oct 11 12:37:24.407: SW1_SP: Switch 2 Physical Slot 4 - Module Type LINE_CARD
Oct 11 12:42:36.168: %ONLINE-SW2_SPSTBY-6-INITFAIL: Module 4: Failed to enable m
Oct 11 12:42:36.168: %C6KPWR-SW2_SPSTBY-4-DISABLED: power to module in slot 4 se
t off (Module Failed SCP dnld)
The card was removed and reinserted, without any positive results. Also the cards were swapped from switch 1 to switch 2 and had same results.
Is there a VSS switch configuration that we are missing?
