Back to back test through up-links on a Nexus 1000v

Hi,

I'm working for a testing company, and, one of our test on the Cisco Nexus 1000v is to send traffic on the same host but through the up-links (cable connected from one port directly to the other).

We can do that without any problems on a VMware VSS/VDS by creating two vSwitches (with one uplink on each).

But, the Nexus 1000v has only one instance on the host, so:

  • if the port group is the same or using the same VLAN, the traffic will only be internal (CPU task)
  • if I used a different port-group (with a different VLAN), the traffic will go through the uplink but communication won't work because of the VLAN

Is there any way to make a static binding on the Nexus 1000v or something else which can make this test working?

Thanks,

Charles
