The only issues we've hit (after two years of use) is the configuration of the Websense server itself. We found the Solaris version works much quicker and with far greater stability than the other option we tried (WinNT). Websense is fairly seemless with both the Cache Engine and the PIX firewall.

You will have to stay with the 2.x versions of the Cache Engine software for now. A 3.x version that supports Websense is supposed to come out some day.

Websense support, from the Cache Engine's perspective, is easy to implement and fairly robust.

Websense is not supported in 3.x code, so if you were looking for robust caching code that supports Websense, I have seen great results with 2.51 or 4.03 (4.01 has a websense bug you might want to steer clear of) ;-)

Cheers,

Perry.

In order to support HTTPS and FTP you have to cisco cache engine with Cisco Cache 2.3 software or later and In direct proxy mode.

You will not see the , Logging of bytes sent , Logging of bytes received , Logging of duration . The same applays to cisco pix and checkpoint fw-1.
