Cisco ACE location of Checkpoint file

Hi Netpro -

One capability of the Cisco ACE service module is to rollback configuration changes to a certain checkpoint . Do you have any idea where this checkpoint is saved so we can download it to an external storage.

We come across this question because we need to make an archive regarding all the checkpoints created and from cisco it looks like the cisco ace module can only create 10 checkpoints.

Thank you for you help .

Have a nice day .

Re: Cisco ACE location of Checkpoint file

Hi Jay,

The checkpoints are stored in a hidden directory on the flash. A combination of "show checkpoint all" and "show checkpoint detail " in each context will show the contents.

You could put together an expect script to iterate across all your contexts and "show" the files to some other network location. The recent discussion on backup scripts would be a good starting point.

There are probably good reasons why Cisco don't want to expose the location of the checkpoints.
