I read several posts here that mention tha the ACE Appliance supports accelration (comrpession?) and optimization while the ACE module does not.

thanks

Re: Cisco ACE Module vs ACE Appliance ?

you are correct the appliance supports http compression and optimization while the module does not. The next gen ace module (ACE30) will support compression but still not optimization (i.e flash forward).

the other differences are of scale ace module can handle 4 times the number of connections (4 million) and up to 16Gbps of bandwidth. Module can also handle up to 15K TPS of ssl traffic .

Re: Cisco ACE Module vs ACE Appliance ?

other difference...based on the intel architecture there are more features in the appliance. the new ACE30 will be with intel architecture too, so it will close the gap again.
