Hi,
I am in the process of setting up Cisco WAE running WAAS 4.0. One WAE will be in the branch and the other in the HQ data center.
My question is, is it a MUST that I have a separate WAE running as a Central Manager?

i think the answer no & yes you can configure traffic interception then the 2 wae worked but it is so hard "nearly imposible" to edite default polices via CLI and the monotoring wil be so hard i tried to install the solution and implement polices then i disconnected c.m and it worked and connections optimized another point do you think you can implment CIFS server& client via CLI ??

You can configure the base TCP optimizations (TFO+DRE+LZ) using just the CLI. However, the Central Manager is required for configuring CIFS acceleration, disk encryption, reporting, etc.
