CSM in bridged-mode - proxy-ARP?

I have a CSM configured in bridged-mode - it is listening on port 80 and distributing on 9102. The servers can be accessed from the client using their real address and specifying port 9102, but not via the VIP using port 80. As far as I can see there isn't a problem with the server routing - it is using its default route which points to the client vLAN IP on the switch containg the CSM.

This is something we configure regularly, so I'm surprised it isn't working.

However, unusually for this network there are "no ip proxy-arp" and a "no ip redirects" statements on the switch client vLAN interface. Could these be causing the problem?

get a sniffer trace on the csm portchannel and see if you get a response from the server.

You can also do a 'show mod csm x vserver name <....> detail' for your vserver and see if it detects server packets.

I don't think proxy-arp does matter here.
