CSM modules synchronization

Hello

In my network we have a redundant pair of 6500 with CSM modules. After we changed a configuration on the active CSM and tried to synchronize the config with the standby module with the command hw-module csm slot standby config-sync, the standby CSM lost its load-balancing configuration (there was no more information about the configured csm vlans). In the logs there are information that there was some problem with coping running to startup config. What is more, after that, on the standby 6500 every time we want to enter any command in the config mode we need to wait about 5 minuts. Below I am attaching the logs messages.

Does anybody have the same problem ? If yes what could be the reason of such strange behaviour and what is the solution to fix this problem.

%CSM_SLB-6-REDUNDANCY_INFO: Module 2 FT info: Standby: Started clearing configuration

%CSM_SLB-6-REDUNDANCY_INFO: Module 2 FT info: Standby: Completed clearing configuration

%CSM_SLB-4-REDUNDANCY_WARN: Module 2 FT warning: Standby: Config Sync does not save running-config to startup-config

%CSM_SLB-6-REDUNDANCY_INFO: Module 2 FT info: Standby: Previous configuration are being deleted from supervisor

%CSM_SLB-6-REDUNDANCY_INFO: Module 2 FT info: Standby: Previous configuration being deleted on Standby CSM

%HA_CONFIG_SYNC-3-LBL_CFGSYNC: Unable to sync config-changed command to standby

%CSM_SLB-6-REDUNDANCY_INFO: Module 2 FT info: Standby: New configuration are being configured

%HA_CONFIG_SYNC-3-LBL_CFGSYNC: Unable to sync config-changed command to standby

%HA_CONFIG_SYNC-3-LBL_CFGSYNC: Unable to sync config-changed command to standby

Thank you in advance

Lukas

the CSM messages all start with CSM_SLB...

There are nothing wrong with those messages.

They are just information about the synch process.

Same with "Config Sync does not save running-config to startup-config "

This is just to inform you that you need to manually copy running config to startup-config.

What is more important is the HA_CONFIG messages which are related to the Sup/MSFC (not the CSM).

There are few ddts opened for this.

You should maybe upgrade the IOS to the latest version in your train ie: 12.2(16)SXF13 and if the problem persist, open a service request with the TAC.

Gilles.
